an update on my general life and feelings

The year before last was an incredibly tough time for me. It was one of those 'everything that could possibly go wrong, IS' years. With the exception of my sojourning across America , I struggled to find peace of mind. Starting from absolute scratch I planned on rebuilding my life; I went back to school, moved out of the city, learned guitar, found meaningful employment, started a studio and gallery, started working out, reconnected my family, and reconnected with my community and made a tonne of new friends! Its been a pretty good year over all, I'm so grateful for the fresh start.

But, somehow I find myself off track again. There is and was so much more I wanted to accomplish that got overlooked. So many of my goals have been circling around me for years now. It frustrates and concerns me why I have yet to conquer them?

I'd like to get over the hill. And when I do?

Finally, I built my own exposure unit slash light table for SILKSCREENING.
I just followed the instructions from Utube and solicited a little help via power tools. I am so happy it works! The total cost was around $160 which undercuts the $460 I was going to drop purchasing one.

this saturday, braving the rain, i was a vendor in my very first artist market! it was pretty splendid in spite of the weather :(
its been a long time coming since i've been around such a positive, skilled, uncompetitive, and laid back community of artists-nothing like art school in downtown toronto.

it was really uplifting, and i got a beautiful pair of earrings out of it. if you are in the area you should surely check it out; every saturday on locke street between a thousand villages and something else -you'll see it, or you'll hear the live music first.

i'm quaintly inspired to learn and make more. below is a recap of my process. mmm never mind the weekend rain- come out

It's really different thinking in relation to the body or a table as opposed to using a canvas. 70's child. -actually the furniture is from the middle 60's but the colours remind me of a 1973 rooster wallpaper that used to be in my mothers kitchen. I like the melon and yellow so I made these melon coloured curtains with white silkscreen/lino-cut prints. though it's hard to capture, so see through.
